Position Summary:

The Moors & Cabot Summer Internship Program provides current college students the ability to gain practical experience within the Financial Services industry. This summer will be filled with meaningful work, hands-on experience, mentorship from experienced leaders, and networking opportunities. At the conclusion of the program, you will present on projects accomplished and key learning takeaways to your peers and other team members of Moors & Cabot. As a Moors & Cabot Intern, you won't just be learning—you will be building. 

In this role, you will apply software development and architecture knowledge to support the ongoing development of multiple data automation, integration, and reporting efforts at Moors & Cabot. You will work to harden custom software, integrate AI models, and develop proprietary intellectual property.

This full-time role reports to the EVP of Strategic Initiatives and is based out of our Boston headquarters. Working hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST on a hybrid schedule: at least 3 days in office and up to 2 days remote.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • AI & Automation
    • Design scalable application modules to automate data ingestion, comparison, and export
    • Develop AI agents and APIs to create custom integrations between in house products
    • Refactor and prepare our in house Business Intelligence Platform as an external production solution
    • Enhance core M&C automation and data management applications. 
  • Custom Solutions Development
    • Maintain, enhance, and develop point automation solutions to replace manual processes with automated software procedures
    • Collect requirements, design, and build reports in the M&C Business Intelligence Platform to address analytics needs
    • Explore opportunities to enhance and refactor database tables and reports 
    • Develop as needed queries and views to facilitate database-side blending of data
  • Marketing Software Development
    • Produce demo data to support commercialization of M&C tech ventures solutions
    • Support development of the M&C public facing website and Internal Intranet using Wix and Google Sites platforms.
  • Technical Writing/Documentation
    • Document procedures, best practices, and limitations for the M&C Business Intelligence Platform and other proprietary solutions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate student currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Analysis, or related field
  • Proficiency in Javascript (or similar), Google scripting, and SQL
  • Strong math, analytical, and programming skills
  • Strategic, methodology driven, and consultative mindset
  • Superb time management and follow through skills
  • Creative, highly professional, and detail-oriented 
  • Experience with AI programming, Google Cloud, or BigQuery is a plus.

 

Compensation & Benefits 

  • This position has an hourly rate of $22.00
