Product Analyst Intern

Job Summary:

You will get hands-on experience with Agile Development processes, best practices on quantifying and presenting impactful data, a sneak-peek behind the scenes of the Software Development Life Cycle, and you’ll learn about the ins and outs of new product development by working side-by-side with a talented team of Product Managers and Product Analysts.

 

This role is heavy on basic statistics, web analytics, and writing, so you must possess confidence in quantifying numbers and presenting them back in written and summarized format. You must also be comfortable deriving and defending your hypotheses based on the analysis you have produced to convince your fellow Product members of your findings.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data-driven analysis to make recommendations (cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, impact analysis, and more)
  • Create visualized displays of quantitative information
  • Derive summaries and validate hypotheses based on data and business needs
  • Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations Perform product research


Qualifications:

  • Hands-on statistics experience
  • Relational databases creation or management experience
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills and an analytical mindset
  • Strong problem-solving ability and drive

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in progress in business, statistics, computer science, applied analytics or any other relevant fields
  • Strong background in SQL preferred
  • Web Analytics experience preferred
  • Experience articulating product questions, pulling data from various data sources and using statistics to arrive at an answer preferred
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence tools preferred

 

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the hourly rate for this role will be between $30 - $35 per hour. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
