Camp Lochearn is seeking a dependable, team-oriented Assistant Chefto join our kitchen leadership team for the 2026 summer season. Our kitchen is the heart of camp — and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in preparing delicious, nutritious meals for our vibrant camp community.

📍 Position Details

  • Dates: June 2026-August 19, 2026
  • Location: Residential girls camp in Vermont
  • Housing & meals provided
  • Competitive seasonal salary
  • One day off per week
  • Supportive, experienced kitchen team

🍴 About the Role

As Assistant Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef to:

  • Prepare and cook meals for approximately [insert number] campers and staff
  • Assist with menu planning and food preparation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
  • Support dietary accommodations (allergies, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)
  • Help manage inventory and food storage
  • Model teamwork and professionalism in a fast-paced environment

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys cooking at scale while being part of a warm, collaborative team.

👩‍🍳 We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has previous kitchen or food service experience (camp, school, restaurant, or catering preferred)
  • Works well under pressure and stays positive during busy meal times
  • Is organized and attentive to food safety standards
  • Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team
  • Appreciates being part of a mission-driven community

ServSafe certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
