Purchasing Intern
Job Summary:
As a Purchasing Intern, you will assist the procurement team with a primary focus on developing and implementing procurement-related Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). This role will support the procurement function by designing, tracking, and analyzing performance metrics that drive data-based decision-making, improve supplier performance, optimize costs, and enhance supply chain performance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and refining procurement KPIs aligned with team and company adjectives
- Support data collection on procurement activities, including spend, supplier performance, cost savings, and strategic planning.
- Help analyze existing data for integrity to be able to build dashboards and reports to develop KPI’s and procurement performance.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and dashboards for internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, finance, engineering) to support procurement activities
- Support and document procurement processes.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis), Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization and reporting tools
- Familiarity with PowerPoint or similar presentation tools
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Continuous improvement mindset
Education and Experience:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using hand/power tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to read instructions and inspect parts produced.
