Finance Intern - Summer

Duration: Summer Internship (May-August)
Hours: Up to 40 hours a week
Position Summary
The Summer Finance Intern will support the Finance team with day-to-day financial and accounting activities while gaining hands-on experience in a professional business environment. This entry-level position is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in finance, accounting, or business and provides exposure to core financial processes, analysis, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine accounting and financial tasks such as data entry, reconciliations, and documentation
- Support monthly close activities, including preparing schedules and reports
- Help analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, or discrepancies
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling as needed
- Support accounts payable and/or accounts receivable processes
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and basic financial reports
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analyses
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and attend team meetings
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- Strong interest in finance and accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Prior coursework in accounting or finance
- Familiarity with financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Experience with financial systems or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) a plus, but not required
