Formulation Intern
Role Overview:
Nevakar Injectables is currently seeking a talented and innovative intern to join our Formulations Department located at Bridgewater, New Jersey. As an intern, you will be engaged in the formulation development of sterile injectable projects, that include strategic planning, laboratory execution, results interpretation, and scientific presentation. Mentorship experience would expose the intern to fundamental scientific tools and cultivate intrapersonal experience necessary to develop a robust understanding of sterile injectable drug products.
Responsibilities:
- Perform wet laboratory activities
- Design and execute laboratory experiments
- Perform data analysis, interpretation, and report results
- Conduct literature search for assigned project
Learning Objectives:
- Understand small molecule chemistry, degradation pathways, characterization, and stabilization techniques.
- Learn to apply principles of physical/organic chemistry, physical pharmacy & materials science to solving practical pharmaceutical development problems.
- Gain experience in developing novel injectable drug delivery systems.
- Gain hands-on experience in solubilization and stabilization of small molecules.
- Gain experience in performing formulation/process development of sterile dosage drug products.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be enrolled in either a Bachelors (at least within 3rd year), Masters, or Doctoral program in Chemistry-, Science-, Pharmaceutical- or Engineering-related field.
- Successful candidates must have taken some courses in organic chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, formulation sciences, medicinal chemistry, or other relevant courses. Previous experience in pharmaceutical industry or scientific research is a plus.
- Hands-on lab experience is crucial.
- Must be able to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the duration of internship program
- Should be able to commute on site (Bridgewater, New Jersey) for the duration of internship program
- Required GPA of 3.5 and above
