Marketing Intern Specialist

Interns work collaboratively on teams to conduct research that improves our brand, communications, and strategy. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of brand marketing, social media, and digital marketing strategies, as well as an interest in working on high-impact projects.
Position Summary:
The Marketing Intern Specialist will manage and improve all communications flows, within and outside of the company. This role is responsible for promoting a positive public image of the company.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a structured media strategy and plan to increase presence and brand recognition.
- Create content (still and video) for social media sites (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, for example), web sites, brochures, press releases, data sheets and emails campaigns.
- Drive social media engagement.
- Work on Marketing and Competitive research.
- Draft press releases and other marketing related communication.
- Research potential target markets and competitors.
- Build internal and external relationships to deliver integrated communication strategies.
- Gather and analyze data to develop new ideas to improve the go-to-marketing strategy.
- Collaborate with the sales team and provide customer feedback on the company’s products.
- Apply various social media tactics in creating brand awareness and generating inbound traffic that strengthens company’s social media presence.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Independent time management skills
- Adept at web searches for customers and competitors
- Basic knowledge of social media marketing and social media engagement
- Basic design skills to create web, print and social media content.
- Skilled at generating and implementing new and unique ideas.
- Able to maintain confidential information.
- Analytical thinker who logically breaks down problems and looks for solutions.
- Flexible to change, and able to multitask and shift project direction on short notice.
- Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good presentation skills
- Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
Education, Experience and Training:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Engineering, and/or Software Development.
- Proficiency inn Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign preferred).
Physical Requirements & Working Environment:
- Office environment with heavy computer usage.
- Ability to sit while working for long periods of time.
