Paralegal
Riverside based law firm is Looking for an EXPERIENCED paralegal to assist attorneys with Family Law and civil cases. As a paralegal at our firm, you will take the lead and proactively manage cases from beginning to end.
Summary job description:
Preparation of all court required forms on matters from the initial SOA to the final NOW. Prepare pleadings such as request for orders. Preparation of correspondence, propounding and responding to discovery. Drafting letters for attorneys. Present a pleasant demeanor with Court staff, clients, and opposing parties/counsel. Administrative duties will include answering phones, completing client intakes, and other misc. office work.
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to the following).
- Answer phones
- Process intake forms
- Copy, Scan, File, Create case Hearing and Trial binders
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsels, staff, etc.
- Monitor deadlines and keep attorney calendars updated
- Organize, track, build and maintain case files, information, database files and records.
- Maintain contact with opposing party, counsel and clients involved in the case
- Keep clients informed regarding the status of their case
- Prepare requests for order, ex parte, petitions, responses, trial briefs, reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, declarations, pleadings and motions.
- Prepare subpoenas, discovery requests, and other case-related legal documents.
- Formatting correspondences, Briefs and Pleadings.
- Audit and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy.
- Schedule client appointments, monitor calendars, and keep attorneys and clients informed of scheduled court dates.
- Assist attorneys with hearing/trial preparation (i.e., preparation of exhibits, witness lists, status reports, trial briefs and other case-related documents).
- Prepare and file all pertinent court documents.
- Conduct legal research
- Perform miscellaneous job duties related to the position.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Must be a paralegal qualified under the Business and Professions Code § 6450
Experience and Knowledge of e-filing
Familiarity with Riverside & San Bernardino County court system is a plus
Physical Requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the Paralegal to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary. Daily, in-person attendance in our Riverside office during regular work hours is a mandatory function of this job.
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum of one year experience working as a paralegal.
- Attention to detail, strong work ethic, good judgment, sense of responsibility, and ability to work under pressure
- Proven ability to revise, organize, and track high volume submissions
- Team player, able to work well with other members of the legal, accounting, HR and operational teams to achieve company objectives on an often-short timeline
- Strong intelligence, knowledge of required functions and ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Excellent time management and outstanding organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (familiarity with Time Matters and Serengeti is a plus, but not required)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Must possess professional appearance and demeanor
- Must possess ability to handle priorities under pressure
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – 40 hours per week

Pay rate:
- $22.00 - $25.00 per hour to start, depending on experience.
