Packaging Engineer

Position Title: Packaging Engineer (Contract)

Duration: 12 Months + Possible Extension
Pay Rate: $35 – $40/hour (W2)
Location: El Segundo, CA 90245

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Packaging Engineer to support the Consumer Products Division packaging team. This role provides hands-on experience in packaging development, testing, documentation, and sustainability initiatives within a fast-paced operations environment.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Support & Testing

Prepare and set up test requests for new materials and packaging components

Review and evaluate test reports to support project decisions

Coordinate data requests related to material sustainability and compliance

Data Management & Documentation

Perform project data cleanup and maintain accurate project files

Update and manage documentation in LIMS/PLM systems

Ensure proper documentation for product transfers and project tracking

Sustainability Initiatives

Support efforts to evaluate sustainable materials and recyclability

Assist with sustainability data collection and reporting

Project Collaboration & Support

Follow up on project action items and support implementation activities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&I, Supply Chain, and Quality

Assist with data gathering, tracking, and project coordination

Participate in development steps from concept through implementation

Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Materials Engineering, or a related field

Entry-level experience (0–1 year) through internships, academic projects, or technical support roles

Business-level English proficiency (required)
