Klein Leadership Program- Operations Specialist
The Operations Specialist is part of an accelerated program designed to develop and prepare individuals for a successful career in Materials Management. This position will operate through various Materials Management functions, including planning, scheduling, inventory control and warehouse management to gather the necessary skills to improve operations within each function. In addition, this position will understand the importance of and learn best practices of materials management within a manufacturing environment.
1. Manage scheduling and procurement to specific performance metrics, including on time delivery, LLPs, production trackers, inventory management ﴾accuracy﴿, and efficiency.
2. Investigate shortages of materials or inventory balance discrepancies and collaborate with appropriate stakeholders on solutions.
3. Participate in materials management projects to help develop and implement processes that improve inventory accuracy, material flow, inventory turns and delivery performance.
4. Support the timely delivery of products within the cost and quality specifications through effective use of planning tools.
5. Perform moderately complex analysis of information and conduct pipeline health assessments to maintain appropriate inventory levels to support customer service levels.
6. Work with Buyers to monitor inventory levels to ensure that optimal ordering patterns, inventory turns and safety stock levels are met.
7. Assist in developing a streamlined logistics process for material handling to minimize cost and optimize resource utilization.
8. Communicate perceived risks to leadership and work to mitigate through the execution of strategic projects.
9. Develop root cause analysis, stock out predictions and distribute moderately complex reports.
10. Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.
Job Qualifications
Must possess or be currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field with a completion date within the next year. Internship or co-op experience related to your field of study is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint). Excellent analytical, organization, decision-making, verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to manage shifting priorities and have ability to create meaningful relationships with support functions (Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, etc.) to effectively succeed as a team.
