Student Administrative Assistant (STDT 3)

SUMMARY Student Assistant 3 is responsible for supporting and assisting with administrative duties under general supervision. Student assistant duties may include assisting in administrative services such as Financial Services, Facilities Management, Human Resources and other functional areas. Utilizing skills such as typing, using computer software programs, basic records keeping, filing and reception. Promote, in all ways consistent with the other responsibilities of the position, the accomplishment of the Affirmative Action goals established by the Division.

Duties:

  • Programmatic and event support for the 4-H State Office
  • Perform data entry functions 
  • Travel to local events to assist with program implementation 
  • Create and place supply orders
  • Manage inventory 
  • Other administrative support tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled or accepted in a local accredited college, or University and must provide proof of enrollment. Required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Required 
  • Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access), internet and database. Required
  • Strong organizational skills, maintaining a high level of productivity, with exceptional attention to detail. Required 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and accountability. Required.
  • Experience working in a collaborative office environment with multiple co-workers. Preferred
  • Willingness to attempt difficult and unfamiliar projects. Preferred
  • Past 4-H participation or 4-H program knowledge. Preferred

4. SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Consistent with policy and practice with regard to student employees, incumbents must meet the criteria for student status. Students must be enrolled in an accredited higher education institution. 
  • This is a temporary position that may involve irregular hours and a work schedule that is flexible enough to accommodate the academic program of the student while meeting the needs of the department. 
  • This is a variable hourly position with a minimum of 10 hrs/wk, not to exceed 20 hrs/wk.
  • Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule, as needed, often outside of normal business hours, proof of liability and property damage insurance on personal vehicles, if used. Reimbursement for job-related travel is available and according to university policies. 
  • As of January 1, 2014, ANR is a smoke- and tobacco-free environment in which smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes), is strictly prohibited.
