Accounting Intern

Accounting Internship

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing Accounting Degree
  • Finished Junior year of college or later

 

Overview: Join our Finance team for a hands-on internship where you’ll learn accounting systems, support month end close, and gain real experience with audits, payroll reviews, and investment documentation — all while being part of a collaborative, supportive team.

 

Work Plan:


• Train on Acumatica ERP: hands on work with general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable


• Learn month end financial close for Trusts and CBS: assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables


• Accounts receivable: learn billing and cash application processes


• Accounts payable: enter and process invoices in the accounting system


• Assist staff accountant with updating CBS monthly departmental financial reports and other month end requirements


• Participate in Finance and cross divisional team meetings and contribute ideas


• Support payroll audits: analyze member payroll data, identify variances, and coordinate follow up with member organizations


• Perform bank reconciliations and update related workpapers


• Prepare and update audit workpapers for Trusts/Plans; reconcile balances to the general ledger


• Conduct in depth variance analysis of workpapers and financial statements


• Create investment manager trade schedules and document subscription/withdrawal/notification requirements


• Review investment manager documents to evaluate potential UBIT implications


• Update monthly asset allocation workpapers (CBS, EBT, RMT)


• Support development and maintenance of Trust budgets


• Review company W 9s for completeness; verify against IRS records and request updates as needed


• Assist with or lead ad hoc Finance projects as assigned


• Verify client listings in the Kenedy Catholic Directory
