Human Resources Intern
Location: On-site in Linthicum, MD
Schedule: 20+ hours a week, depending on availability
Duration: 10–12 weeks, beginning May 2026
Compensation: $17/hour
About the Internship
We’re looking for a motivated, people-focused Human Resources Intern who’s excited to learn how HR truly works behind the scenes, especially during a period of growth and change. Our organization is in an exciting phase as we bring multiple entities together, streamline processes, and build a consistent employee experience across the group. You’ll get a front-row seat to what it looks like to scale and shape HR foundations in a growing company, and you’ll play a real part in that work.
If you enjoy helping others, staying organized, and improving processes, you’ll fit right in. This internship offers hands-on experience across recruiting, onboarding, HR operations, and compliance, giving you a well-rounded look at what a career in HR can look like.
What You’ll Be Doing
Recruiting & Onboarding (40%)
Learn how we attract top talent and set new hires up for success. You’ll:
- Post job openings and help review resumes
- Coordinate interviews and communicate with candidates
- Support new hire onboarding, paperwork, and first-day logistics
- Help ensure candidates and new employees have a smooth, positive experience
HR Operations & Administration (35%)
Support the day-to-day work that keeps HR running. You’ll:
- Maintain digital employee files and support HR data accuracy
- Assist with HR documentation, templates, and process improvements
- Assist in optimizing the newly implemented HRIS by auditing data accuracy, testing and refining workflows, improving reporting functionality, and supporting ongoing system enhancements.
- Support general employee inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality
Compliance & Policy Support (25%)
See how HR policies come to life and why they matter. You’ll:
- Assist with policy updates, formatting, and version control
- Help track compliance requirements, trainings, and acknowledgements
- Learn how HR ensures consistency, fairness, and legal compliance across locations
What You’ll Learn

You’ll receive mentorship, regular feedback, and the chance to shadow the HR Manager across different areas of the function.
Who You Are
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field
- Strong communicator with a positive, professional attitude
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Trustworthy with confidential information
- Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn
No prior HR experience required, just a genuine interest in the field and a willingness to jump in and try new things.
