Machine Shop Internship – Wright Tool Inc., Piney Flats, TN

About Wright Tool Inc.:
Established in 1979, Wright Tool, Inc. is a family-owned precision machine shop located in Piney Flats, Tennessee. Operating from a 40,000-square-foot facility, we specialize in CNC turning, milling, and wire EDM for various industries, including aerospace, industrial, communications, and robotics.

Internship Overview:
We are seeking a motivated intern to organize the shop, run basic parts on machines, and assist in preparing our operations for the implementation of ProShop ERP. This role offers hands-on experience in producing a wide variety of precision components, digitizing manufacturing processes, and enhancing workflow efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the transition to ProShop ERP by documenting current processes and identifying areas for digital integration.
  • Assist in organizing tools and inventory to align with ERP requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team to streamline the flow of parts and information
  • Gain foundational knowledge in operating CNC mills, lathes, and wire EDM machines.
  • Contribute to overall business performance improvements through process analysis and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree or certification in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing processes and digital transformation.
  • Exposure to or experience running manual or CNC mills or lathes a plus.
  • MasterCam or other CAD/CAM programming a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Schedule:

  • Part Time or Full Time Available
  • Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM; 5:00 PM - 3:00 AM
