Job Title: Analyst Intern (Summer 2026)
Location: La Crosse, WI (on site)
Schedule: 40-hour weeks, with occasional extended hours
Compensation: $4,000/month

Job Description: We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Analyst Intern to join our team. This internship
offers hands-on exposure across sourcing, diligence, portfolio support, and fund operations. You will work
directly with our investment team on live deals, portfolio reporting, LP communication, and internal
projects. The work is fast-paced and highly substantive from day one. The role includes periodic travel
around the region for founder meetings, university programming, and ecosystem events. During peak
seasons (such as summer and fall events), some extended hours may be required.
Career Track: This summer internship is designed as a potential pathway to a long-term career within the
Idea Fund ecosystem – either as a full-time team member at Idea Fund or in an operator role at one of our
portfolio companies. Exceptional performance during your internship may lead to an offer to join Idea Fund
onsite in our La Crosse, WI office as an Analyst, or to be considered for roles within our portfolio as
companies scale. We view the internship as a long-term investment in people and provide hands-on
exposure, mentorship, and training across venture investing and startup operations. Interns who
demonstrate initiative, strong judgement, and a genuine interested in building and scaling early-stage
companies will be best positioned for these future opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in evaluating potential investments, including market research, financial modeling and due
diligence.
• Support portfolio companies’ CEOs and boards of directors.
• Play an active role in the firm’s fundraising and LP relations.
• Source and screen inbound investment opportunities, conducting initial assessments and
identifying promising startups.
• Prepare materials and analyses for investment committee meetings.
• Represent the firm at regional events and university programs, building relationships within the
startup ecosystem.
• Aid the team in various administrative tasks and special projects.• Interns are encouraged to contribute their own ideas and insights, taking ownership of projects and
making meaningful contributions to the firm’s investment and portfolio work.
Qualifications:
• Current undergrad seeking full time employment beginning Spring 2027.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Strict attention to detail.
• Working understanding of accounting and financial analysis.
• Proficient in PowerPoint and financial modeling in Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Interest in venture capital, investment management and entrepreneurship.
