We are looking for a Hospitality Intern to join the Fiddler’s Family and share their passion for hospitality with our members, guests, and fellow staff members. Fiddler’s Elbow has four food and beverage outlets and hosts a wide range of events from comedy shows and concerts to Fourth of July celebrations and New Year’s Eve festivities, our annual FiddleFest Music and Food Festival, golf outings and sporting events. We also host smaller clubs within Fiddler’s, such as our beloved Book Club and Cigar Club. Our members host many private events like weddings, social events, and celebrations of life milestones with us.
Fiddler’s Elbow Hospitality Internship Program will offer current students a unique opportunity to gain real world experience and develop the country club business leaders of tomorrow.
Under the general supervision of the Clubhouse Manager and Human Resources Manager, our Interns will be responsible for supporting the team on department-related responsibilities. The Intern will gain experience in a wide variety of functions including basic restaurant service skills, member engagement, golf and pro shop experience and event participation.
The Hospitality Internship Program includes:
12-week program with a minimum of 30 hours on-site each week at a pay rate of $17.50/hour
A two-week rotation in each of the following departments: Front Desk, Weddings and Events, Banquets, Elbow Room (fine dining), Grill Room (casual dining) and Golf Outings & Pro Shop
Front Desk operational responsibilities– welcoming Members and their guests, phone etiquette and host duties, proficiency on the reservation system, knowledge on our Calendar of Events and placing daily to-go orders
Wedding & Events- gain proficiency on the Calendar of Events, communication with various vendors, preparations for weddings and member events, communication with relevant departments and culinary team, understanding how to read a BEO, shadowing the Wedding and Events Managers and Coordinators during events
Banquets- Involvement with member social/banquet events; assist managers and team members in the setup and breakdown of events and turnover in a wide range of events and communication on timing with the culinary team
Full range of experience in the Casual and Fine Dining restaurants, ranging from Table Service specifics on the different restaurants to scheduling and manager/maitre d’ shadowing
Experience with the Golf Outings Manager to learn how to organize and execute the golf outings and communication between the various departments that make them a success, as well as retail experience with the Pro Shop team
Housing is available near property at $100/week (must provide your own transportation)

Required Education/Experience:
Currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time college student or recent graduate with a focus/degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related degree preferred. Applicants should possess a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
Previous Hospitality experience is preferred but not required
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word is preferred
Required Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to communicate and understand the predominant language of our members and guests.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without employment sponsorship
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Ability to lift and carry trays/objects weighing up 30+ pounds through a crowded room
Ability to handle many tasks at once
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe and lift to perform job functions
