Photography and Videography Intern
General Summary
The Photography and Videography Intern will gain hands on experience supporting Rayburn Electric Cooperative’s Communications team with a primary focus on photography and videography. This role is designed to help capture, create, and organize visual media assets that tell Rayburn’s story across internal and external platforms. The intern will work closely with the Communications team and various departments to document people, projects, facilities, and events while gaining exposure to broader communications functions within the electric utility industry.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities / Knowledge
- Captures photo and video content of employees, leadership, facilities, events, and operations
- Edits and produces video and photo assets for use across internal communications, social media, website, presentations, and other channels
- Assists with organizing, tagging, and managing Rayburn’s photo and video asset library
- Supports the development and distribution of internal and external communications across multiple platforms
- Creates graphic design materials that align with Rayburn’s brand, culture, and messaging when needed
- Shadows, supports, and collaborates with the Communications team daily
- Participates in Communications team meetings and contributes creative ideas related to visual storytelling
- Collaborates with other departments to support communications related projects and requests
Key Accountabilities
- Complies with all policies, procedures, and confidentiality agreements effective as a result of employment with Rayburn.
- Shares information with Rayburn management and staff, contractors, and other third parties in a timely manner, as required.
- Provides Rayburn management with updates and/or reports on work and tasks as requested or required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive management
Job Specifications / Skills Required
Education:
• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree Communications, Multimedia, Journalism, Marketing or a related field is preferred
Skills:
• Strong interest and demonstrated ability in photography and videography
• Experience with photo and video editing software preferred
• Basic graphic design skills are a plus
• Evidence of the practice of a high-level confidentiality
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work effectively in a team environment; willing to assist others
• Ability to carry out a variety of activities which require a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Physical Demands
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a computer workstation.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions in order to use a computer keyboard, mouse, etc.
• Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
