Founder's Associate / Executive Assistant to the CEO
Founder's Associate / Executive Assistant to the CEO
GlobalComix | Madison, WI (Remote-Friendly) | Full-Time
About GlobalComix
GlobalComix is the world's largest digital comics and manga platform, home to 100,000+ titles from publishers like Marvel, DC, and Kodansha, and thousands of independent creators worldwide. We're funded by leading US and Japanese VC's and are scaling rapidly into global markets. We're a nimble, fast-moving team building something that millions of fans use — and we're just getting started.
The Role
We're looking for a sharp, resourceful, and technically-oriented person to work directly alongside our CEO as a Founder's Associate / Executive Assistant. This is not a traditional admin role. You'll be embedded in the day-to-day of running and scaling a venture-backed company — from investor relations to international travel logistics to managing communication with our executive team across multiple time zones.
Why This Role Matters to Us
We believe the person closest to the CEO has one of the most important seats in the company as we go through our next inflection point. (We've just closed a major funding, acquired an international team, and signed partnerships with some of the largest publishers in the world). You'll know what's happening before anyone else does. You'll shape how decisions get communicated, how our time gets spent, and how smoothly this company operates day to day. We don't see this role as someone who handles the things we don't want to do; we see it as someone we can't build this company without. You'll be trusted with sensitive information, relied on for judgment calls, and treated as a true partner in building something meaningful.
If you're the kind of person who wants to see and learn how companies are actually built—fundraising, partnerships, product strategy, global expansion—by being in the room where it happens, this role is made for you.
What You'll Do
-
CEO Support & Calendar Management
Own the CEO's calendar, scheduling, and daily workflow. Anticipate needs, resolve conflicts, and keep things running smoothly across time zones (we operate teams in the US, Japan, and Vietnam). -
Email & Communication Triage
Draft, prioritize, and manage email responses on behalf of the CEO. Serve as a communication gatekeeper — knowing what's urgent, what can wait, and what you can handle directly. -
Investor Relations Support
Help prepare materials for investor meetings, maintain our investor CRM, coordinate follow-ups after calls, and assist with quarterly investor updates. You'll see the fundraising process up close. -
Executive Team Coordination
Help manage the flow of information and accountability across the leadership team. Track action items, prep meeting agendas, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. -
Travel & Logistics
Book and coordinate domestic and international travel (including regular trips to NYC, Tokyo, and Vietnam). Build efficient itineraries and handle the details so the CEO can focus on the work. -
Life & Operations Admin
Help with the miscellaneous operational things that come with running a company and a busy life — from expense management to research tasks to whatever needs solving on a given day.
Who You Are
- Recent graduate (or soon-to-be) from a business, entrepreneurship, or related program
- Highly organized with strong written communication skills — you write clearly and concisely
- Technically comfortable. You pick up new tools quickly (Google Docs, LLM's, Slack, etc.) and aren't afraid of spreadsheets, dashboards, or light data work
- Naturally curious about startups, media, and/or the creator economy
- Trustworthy and discreet. You'll be exposed to sensitive business and financial information
- Proactive problem-solver who sees around the corners and doesn't wait to be told what to do
- Comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-changing environment
- Preferably based in Madison, WI (the role is remote but proximity to the CEO is a plus)
Nice to Have
- Interest in comics, manga, anime, or digital media
- Experience with investor relations, executive support, or project management (internships count)
- Familiarity with startup environments (internships count)
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally from time-to-time with the CEO
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary
- Health insurance, including dental, vision and HSA options.
- 401k with matching.
- Equity grant — you're not just supporting the company, you're building it with us
- Flexible remote work with occasional travel
- Direct mentorship from the CEO and exposure to every aspect of scaling a venture-backed company
- A front-row seat to deals with global publishers and influencers, international expansion, and the future of digital comics
