As we expand our operations, we’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our production team in Las Cruces. This is an entry-level position with hands-on training and opportunities for advancement within manufacturing and lab operations.
As a Cannabis Laboratory Technician at Headspace Distribution LLC, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining extraction equipment to produce various cannabis concentrates and extracts, including oils, wax, and THCA diamonds. Alongside you will conduct a range of scientific tests and analyses on cannabis products, including flower, concentrates, and edibles. Your work will ensure that our products meet quality and safety standards established by regulatory authorities and our standards.

What You’ll Do
- Assist with operating and monitoring extraction equipment (CO2, hydrocarbon, distillation) under supervision
- Prepare cannabis material for extraction, including weighing, grinding, and loading vessels
- Support extraction runs by monitoring temperature, pressure, and other key variables
- Perform in-process quality checks and accurately record production data
- Fill vape cartridges and assist with product assembly as needed
- Maintain strict adherence to SOPs, safety protocols, and state compliance regulations
- Clean and maintain lab equipment and production areas
- Track batch records, inventory, and documentation for regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with lab and production teams to ensure efficient workflow
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely - Comfortable working in a structured, fast-paced production environment
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Basic math skills and comfort working with measurements
Bonus (Not Required)
- Prior lab, manufacturing, or production experience
- Experience with pre-roll production (including hash hole rolling)
- Experience working in a regulated industry
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to speak and listen effectively in person and by phone
