Financial/Administrative/Collections Intern

Intern Job Description

General Purpose

Paid. Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8a-5p hours for summer months. In person in our Webster, NY office.

The intern will assist with administrative tasks, customer communication, record management, and compliance processes while gaining hands-on experience in credit control, collections strategy, and financial operations.

This role provides exposure to collections procedures, client account management, and regulatory compliance within a professional debt recovery environment.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Update account balances through payments, adjustments, and more
  • Enter client and consumer information into databases as collected from forms, spreadsheets, and other file types.
  • Review all data for errors and report unusual findings to management.
  • Collect and determine completeness of information received from clients.
  • Scan and upload documents received for data entry
  • Process incoming mail into system of records
  • Send outgoing mail as requested
  • Work following privacy guidelines as dictated by state and federal law.
  • File and organize paperwork used to enter data into programs to keep a record of original documents.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma/degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, or related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

Working Conditions

  • Office-based, small business environment
  • Supervised by the Office Manager
