About Avalon Awning Company

We are a family-owned and operated fixture of the Jersey Shore, providing custom shade solutions for over 35 years. From custom-fabricated stationary awnings to high-tech motorized retractables, we help residential and commercial clients enhance their outdoor living spaces. Joining our team means joining a legacy of quality craftsmanship and local pride.

The Role

We are looking for a Sales & Marketing Intern who is ready to drive revenue while building a brand. This is a high-impact role where you will spend the majority of your time in the "Sales Funnel"—managing leads, visiting job sites, and drafting quotes. The other crucial side of your role is digital storytelling: you will have full creative direction to manage our social media presence, ensuring the world sees the quality of work we produce every single day.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

Lead Management & Sales: Take ownership of incoming inquiries. You will follow up with potential clients, qualify their needs, and move them through the sales process.

On-Site Estimating: Visit residential and commercial properties to meet with clients. You will be responsible for taking precise measurements and gathering site data to draft professional project quotes.

Digital Brand Direction: You have the creative freedom to manage our social media identity. This includes one high-quality post per day across major platforms to showcase our craftsmanship.

Content Capture: While on-site for quotes or installations, you will capture "before and after" content (photos/videos) that fuels our marketing efforts.

What You’ll Need (Requirements)

Physical Demands: Ability to safely climb and descend extension ladders to access decks and second-story areas (often necessary when clients are not home). Must be able to lift and move heavy items as needed.

Sales Aptitude: You are comfortable picking up the phone, following up on leads, and talking to new people every day.

Technical Accuracy: Detail-oriented mindset. Measuring for a custom awning requires high precision.

Creative Consistency: Ability to maintain a daily posting schedule and create engaging content.

Reliability: Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites across Cape May County.

Bonus Points

Experience in sales, real estate, or home improvement.

A portfolio or social media feed that demonstrates your ability to capture great outdoor/architectural photos.

Familiarity with the local geography (Wildwood, Avalon, Stone Harbor).

Why Join Us?

Drive the Bottom Line: You won't just be watching; you'll be actively quoting and helping close deals.

Creative Freedom: You are the "Director of First Impressions" for our digital platforms.

The Shore Life: Spend your summer in North Wildwood with a schedule that lets you enjoy the coast.
