We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented Data Operations Analyst who thrives on cleaning, structuring, and connecting complex datasets. This role is centered on account matching, dataset alignment, and turning multiple data sets into a single, trustworthy view.
The ideal candidate loves working in Excel, SQL, and Python, enjoys solving messy data problems, and has a strong instinct for how entities relate to one another across systems (accounts, companies, partners, vendors, locations, and hierarchies).
This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based in the Chicago area.

What You will be doing:
The Data Operations Analyst partners closely with internal teams and clients to prepare, align, and analyze data that supports sales, marketing, and channel initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
- Clean, normalize, and transform large datasets from multiple sources
- Transpose, restructure, and standardize data for analysis and matching
- Perform account matching and entity resolution across vendors, distributors, resellers, and end customers
- Build and maintain data relationships between operational, sales, and marketing datasets
- Identify patterns, overlaps, gaps, and growth opportunities through relational analysis
- Execute data alignment projects using SQL-based matching tools and logic
- Validate data accuracy and resolve inconsistencies across systems
- Produce structured outputs that feed reporting, dashboards, and downstream workflows
- Analyze sales, marketing, and operational data to identify trends, growth opportunities, and inefficiencies
Analytical & Technical Work:
- Develop automated workflows and reporting tools using Excel, Power Query, and Python to streamline repetitive tasks
- Document assumptions, matching logic, and data rules for repeatability
- Support projects by delivering clean, reliable datasets
- Write Python scripts for data transformation, enrichment, and automation
- Apply SQL concepts to join, filter, and reconcile relational datasets
Skills Required:
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data operations, or business intelligence
- Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Pivot Tables, formulas, modeling)
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
- Hands-on experience with data cleaning, normalization, and deduplication
- Proven experience with account matching, entity resolution, or data alignment
- High attention to detail and strong data-quality instincts
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with CRM, ERP, or sales/marketing data
- Familiarity with IT channel data (vendors, distributors, resellers)
- Strong Python experience (Pandas, NumPy, data transformation workflows)
- Experience supporting sales or marketing analytics
- Exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Domo)
- Understanding of how data supports revenue programs and partner strategy
