Job Title: Chemistry Technician
Pay: $25/hr

Job Overview: The Chemistry Technician performs routine and non-routine chemical and physical analyses on raw materials, processed ingredients, finished ingredients, and finished stock. This role ensures compliance with established specifications, cGMP requirements, and quality standards through analytical testing, documentation, and batch evaluations.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
Perform chemical and physical analyses on raw, processed, and finished ingredients and finished stock samples.
Approve and release raw materials, processed materials, finished ingredients, and finished stock according to established procedures.
Communicate analytical results and out-of-specification findings to appropriate departments and supervisory personnel.
Perform analytical determinations using laboratory instrumentation, including:
High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
Gas Chromatography (thermal and flame)
Infrared Spectrophotometer (IR)
UV/Vis Spectrophotometer
X-Ray
Karl Fischer titration
Standardize solutions and calibrate laboratory equipment in compliance with cGMP requirements.
Prepare reagents and maintain standard solutions.
Conduct finished stock evaluations, including line start-ups, line prep releases, and branch inspections.
Monitor manufacturing processes for first-run batches and selected problem products in collaboration with laboratory management.
Make necessary adjustments to finished ingredient batches that do not meet specifications.
Perform shade matching and troubleshoot cosmetic/make-up products.
Maintain standard samples of raw materials, perfume oils, and finished ingredients.
Perform sampling of incoming raw materials (as applicable).
Maintain accurate, complete, and cGMP-compliant laboratory notebooks and records.
Review and verify drug calculations and laboratory documentation.
Participate in routine cGMP audits of facility records.
Maintain chemical inventories and ensure proper storage of retain samples.
Handle and dispose of hazardous waste and solvents in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
Follow laboratory safety policies and maintain proper housekeeping.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related scientific field (including coursework in instrumental analysis), or equivalent experience.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of chemical principles and analytical techniques.
Working knowledge of cGMP requirements in a manufacturing laboratory environment.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret analytical data and escalate suspect findings appropriately.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn Lab, MRP, and Warehouse systems.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including overtime as required.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills.
Commitment to safety and required use of laboratory PPE.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
