Public Information Office Internship

The Public Information Office (PIO) at the North Carolina Department of Insurance interacts with the media and public on behalf of the Commissioner and Department, including news releases, responding to media and general public questions and responding to public records requests; plan and execute major internal and external events on behalf of the Commissioner.

The Digital Media Team is responsible for managing both agency websites, the intranet, graphic design, video production, photography, social media and all agency branding. Digital media is also responsible coordinating the bid process for digital, print and promotional projects.

An Intern working in PIO would be be someone who is looking to pursue this career field such as a journalism, television, or communications major.
