About Ag Intellect
Ag Intellect LLC provides drone-based scouting and aerial application support for Kansas producers. We combine hands-on field work with modern ag tech to help farmers make timely, confident decisions.
The role (what you’ll do)
This is an all-around internship with a heavy focus on field operations and scouting. You’ll work alongside our team on real jobs and learn the full workflow.
Drone operations support
- Help prep and run daily drone ops: checklists, site setup, flight support, safety and compliance steps
- Battery logistics, charging workflows, transport readiness, and job-site organization
- Cleaning and basic maintenance (keeping equipment reliable and “season-ready”)
- Assist with documentation: flight logs, job notes, and simple reporting
- Eligibility for PIC responsibilities: Interns may become eligible for drone spraying PIC responsibilities upon demonstrating readiness and meeting credential requirements (FAA Part 107 and applicable KDA pesticide licensing).
Crop scouting & field support
- Walk fields and record observations (weed pressure, stand issues, pests/disease signs, crop stress)
- Take quality photos/notes and help turn observations into clear updates for customers
- Support job planning around weather, timing, and field conditions
Operations & data
- Enter and organize data in Excel/Google Sheets (jobs, acres, notes, equipment logs)
- Help keep schedules and routes organized across multiple towns/areas
- General shop/yard organization and “make tomorrow easier” tasks
What we’re looking for
- Current college student (Agronomy, Ag Business, Precision Ag, Aviation, Engineering, Data/Analytics, or related)
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, wind, dust, and uneven terrain
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally between job sites
- Strong attention to detail, safety-minded, dependable, and eager to learn
- Basic computer skills (Excel/Sheets)
Preferred (not required)
- Agriculture background or scouting/spraying experience
- Drone interest/experience (FAA Part 107 is a plus; we can help you work toward it)
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting mindset
Physical requirements
- Lift/carry up to ~50 lbs at times, stand/walk for extended periods, and work longer days during peak season.
What you’ll get
- Paid, hands-on experience in ag drone operations + scouting
- Direct mentorship and real responsibility (not “busy work”)
- Strong summer hours and potential to return seasonally or grow into a long-term role
