Augustine Institute Studios Summer Intern

Position: Studios Summer Intern (June through August 2026)

FLSA: Non-Exempt 

Schedule: This full-time, temporary 10-week internship position will work out of the Augustine Institute’s primary office in Florissant, MO.

Pay Range: $16.50/hour

Reporting to: Studios Management 

 

Augustine Institute is seeking gifted individuals with a love of filmmaking for an amazing summer internship experience in Florissant, MO. Our interns work alongside our award-winning team and will build practical skills in many aspects of film production, including producing, cinematography, editing, graphics, and more; to help Catholics Understand, Live, and Share their faith. 

 

Position Summary:

Join our dynamic team at Augustine Institute Studios as an Entry-Level Intern and immerse yourself in the world of Catholic film production. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in various film-related roles. Collaborate with passionate professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and explore the diverse facets of film production within a faith-based environment. Elevate your skills and creativity while fostering a deeper understanding of the art of storytelling in the context of our rich Catholic heritage. 

 

Responsibilities:

Specific duties below may include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing general support to the Studios team in administrative capacities
  • Assisting the editorial, producing, or graphics teams
  • Contributing to in-studio or on-location productions
  • Operating cameras, video switchers, and lighting boards
  • Supporting file management, archiving, and backup tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently in a college undergraduate program (Film Production or a related field preferred)
  • College graduate or skilled individual with relevant experience and a desire to join our team

 

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to operate Cameras (Canon and Blackmagic) 
  • Proficient in Davinci Resolve and Adobe Suite (primarily Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Familiarity with film production equipment, terms, techniques, and etiquette 
  • Ability to problem-solve and learn quickly 
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive

Physical Demands

Working in a dynamic and creative environment at our film production studio may involve the following physical demands:

1. Extended Hours: Although rare for our team, the nature of film production may require interns to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines.

2. Mobility: Interns should be capable of moving around the studio, including navigating various production sets and locations, to assist with on-set tasks and responsibilities.

3. Lifting and Carrying: Some tasks may involve lifting and carrying equipment or props, so interns should be able to handle moderate physical exertion.

4. Standing and Walking: The ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods is essential for on-set support and collaboration.

5. Visual Acuity: Interns should have good visual acuity to assist with tasks such as reviewing scripts, checking equipment, and collaborating on creative elements.

While reasonable accommodations will be made to support all interns, a willingness to adapt to the dynamic nature of film production is crucial for success in this role.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in a climate-controlled office setting. There may be opportunities to work on-location during production.
