Location: Tempe, AZ (in-studio)

Type: Full-time

Compensation: Competitive base + performance-based bonus

Reports to: Ownership Team (remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on General Manager with strong sales and business development skills to oversee day-to-day operations and drive local growth for a well-established fitness and wellness studio near the ASU campus.

This role is ideal for someone who can run the business locally - owning operations, sales execution, staff performance, and community presence - while working closely with a remote ownership team that operates with clear systems, metrics, and accountability.

You will have autonomy in execution, with clear expectations and regular communication.

Core Responsibilities: Studio Operations

  • Oversee daily studio operations, schedules, cleanliness, and member experience
  • Maintain equipment, safety standards, and operational consistency
  • Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly checklists are completed

Sales & Business Development (Critical)

  • Own lead follow-up, appointment setting, and conversion
  • Actively improve close rates and follow-up discipline
  • Coach staff on consultative sales conversations and guest experience
  • Develop and maintain local partnerships and outreach opportunities
  • Ensure consistent CRM usage and accurate reporting

Team Leadership

  • Hire, train, schedule, and manage front-line staff
  • Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable to performance standards
  • Lead regular training sessions and performance check-ins

Reporting & Accountability

  • Track and report key metrics (leads, appointments, conversions, cancellations)
  • Communicate consistently and clearly with ownership
  • Execute established systems and processes without hand-holding

Required Qualifications

  • Prior management experience in fitness, retail, hospitality, or a similar service-based business
  • Demonstrated success in sales and business development
  • Strong closing skills and comfort being measured by performance metrics
  • Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Confident, independent leader who can execute locally and take direction remotely
  • Comfortable operating with clear expectations and accountability

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Existing relationships with ASU organizations, student groups, athletics, or local businesses
  • Experience executing partnerships or campus-area outreach
  • Background in boutique fitness or wellness concepts

What This Role Is (and Is Not)

This role IS:

  • A leadership position with real responsibility and autonomy
  • Sales-driven, but not commission-only
  • Hands-on and execution-focused

This role is NOT:

  • A passive “studio caretaker” position
  • A remote role

Why This Is a Strong Opportunity

  • Established studio in a prime ASU-area location
  • Clear systems, training, and ownership support
  • Ability to make an immediate, measurable impact
  • Growth potential within a multi-location ownership group

To apply: Please submit your resume along with a brief note outlining your sales and leadership experience to NancyMoeller@outlook.com

We will be conducting initial Zoom interviews from our remote locations and finalists will be invited for an in person interview in Tempe the first week of March.
