Patrol Officer
The Town of Erving, Massachusetts is seeking community policing-oriented candidates for the full-time, benefitted position of Patrol Officer to perform routine and specialized law enforcement work to protect lives and property, prevent and suppress crimes within the community, and carry out the enforcement of federal, state, and local laws. This is a 40-hour week position, primarily 2nd and 3rd shifts including weekends.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must be at least 21 years old, must have successfully completed a Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) Full-time police academy, or Bridge Academy, possess an associate degree, preferably in Criminal Justice or equivalent. Candidates shall be required to meet specific medical and physical requirements, including successful completion of the Recruit Academy (ROC) Entry-level Fitness Standards, an extensive background and psychological examination. Must have a valid LTC class A and possess a valid driver’s license. Preference considered for current POST Commission certified candidates.
