Archive Program Assistant - Art House, Inc

Position Overview: 
We are seeking a motivated college intern to join our small but mighty team. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience and an opportunity to learn about a grass roots community based visual arts organization. Interns will work on a main project along with opportunities to experience various aspects of the organization’s operations and programs. They will gain practical skills, and collaborate with professionals in a creative environment. 
The Archive/Program Assistant will support object research and documentation, auction and exhibition preparation for the purpose of celebrating artists who participate in our programs as well as helping to fund Art House programs. In addition, the Intern will assist Teaching Artists and participants in our summer programs.
 

Key Responsibilities: 
The intern will plan and execute an archival/programmatic project to research, identify, collect, and document the artwork from past Art House Artist Inventory Challenge Exhibitions, a yearly event since 2016. They will also engage in Art House programs. Responsibilities include: 
• Conducting research to generate informational summaries about individual artists and the Inventory event. Creating a spreadsheet with artwork details
• Photographing artwork
• Uploading artwork information to auction site
• Proposing an exhibition selected from artwork that you have documented
• Supporting the Art House team with summer camps and administrative tasks
• Participate in meetings and contribute ideas for initiatives and on-going projects.
• Attend the weekly Professional Development sessions as scheduled by the studio Institute
 

Qualifications: 
• Currently enrolled in a college or university as a rising junior or rising senior who is pursuing a degree in studio art, art history, arts administration, and/or graphic design Strong interest in non-profits and arts education.
• Proficiency in photography and Photo editing software
• Good verbal and written communications
• Strong attention to detail.
• Organizational and interpersonal skills- with projects and people
• Time management skills
• Flexibility
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with Excel, Word, Presentation software, Canva

Duration: 
This position is made possible through the Studio Institute College Internship program. It consists of 9 weeks, total of 252 hours. On-site 4 days, 28 hours, per week plus 1 day (Fridays) with Summer Intern Cohort
