Mortgage Verification Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Verification Specialist to join our financial services team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying mortgage documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the loan approval process through phone call. Responsibilities

  • Verify mortgage documentation for accuracy and completeness in accordance with FNMA, TILA, and Fair Housing regulations
  • Conduct credit analysis and review borrower financial information to support loan decisions
  • Assist in loan origination and processing by gathering necessary documents and verifying data integrity
  • Ensure compliance with mortgage contracts, escrow requirements, and banking regulations
  • Collaborate with underwriters, loan officers, and other team members to facilitate smooth loan processing workflows
  • Review and interpret legal documents related to mortgage agreements and contracts
  • Maintain detailed records of verification activities and ensure all documentation aligns with regulatory standards
  • Support mortgage servicing activities by verifying ongoing compliance and documentation updates

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Comfortable with phone calls
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Experience in the mortgage industry preferred
  • Bilingual are preferred

Experience

  • Prior experience in mortgage verification, underwriting, or loan processing within the financial services industry preferred
  • Knowledge of FNMA guidelines, Fair Housing regulations, TILA, and escrow procedures is highly desirable
  • Experience with credit analysis, loan origination systems, and mortgage servicing processes preferred
  • Familiarity with basic math skills, 10-key typing proficiency, and contract review is essential
