Senior Banquet Manager Job Description

Wage: DOE

Shift: Full time. Must be available to work flexible hours, starting from about 6am to 12am, depending on Event schedule and needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the efficient operation of the Banquet and Set up Departments with a focus on exceptional guest service and cost control.
  • Attentive, friendly, professional, and service-oriented approach all encounters with guests and team members.
  • Lead the banquet and set up teams with confidence, including hiring, staffing, training, promoting, correcting behavior, creating, and completing payroll.
  • Supervise operations and service equipment to ensure safety, cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Work side by side with team, as needed, to setup, deliver service, and take down.
  • Handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving obstacles to the delivery of high standards of service.
  • Help with guest requests, complaints, and needs.
  • Collaborate with Catering Sales Managers, Set Up Team, Kitchen and Food and Beverage Director in weekly scheduled meeting to create and enforce BEO’s, then ensure this information is assigned to front-line team members.
  • Maintain inventory and create orders for supplies.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.


Requirements:

  • Great attitude and work ethic that others can look up to.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Decisive, professional, kind, clear and thoughtful at all times.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field as well as supervisory experience.
  • Physical requirements include lift 40 lbs., carry, push, pull, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Good computer skills including understanding of Windows applications, and ability to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Clean driving record and pass a background check.
