Research Associate I (Animal Handling)
Job Title: Research Associate I
Job Summary:
- Under the direction of the Director of QC Bioassays or department Supervisor manager, perform general laboratory research and experiments following established protocols and SOPs.
- The Research Associate I will perform routine laboratory and equipment maintenance, assist with ongoing research projects either independently or as a team member, analyze and archive study data.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform and assist principal investigators with animal studies that may include:
- Dose administration – IP (intraperitoneal), intradermal, subcutaneous (SQ), intramuscular (IM), and oral gavage
- Daily mice weighing, daily Scoring after dosing completion
- Assist team with daily preparation for dosing
- Necropsy, tissue/organ dissection if needed
Education:
- Minimum Required: Basic/general laboratory courses or experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in biology or relevant field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum Required:
- Experienced with research animal handling (mice, rats, guinea pigs, and rabbits)
- Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and equipment techniques (handling pipettes, scales, etc.)
- Prior experience working with MS Package (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
- Available for weekend work
Preferred:
- Capable of basic dose formulation
- Prior experience reviewing and analyzing study data
