Position Summary

The Intern, Government Affairs will work with the Federal Government Affairs team, members and other CHPA staff to complete projects over a 8-week period from May 19, 2026 - July 14, 2026.

Essential Functions

  • Update contract templates as assigned by the Deputy General Counsel
  • Complete assessment of existing contract documentation system and provide recommendations on any changes to Deputy General Counsel
  • Assist in June 2026 CHPA board member visit day logistics

Schedule & Hours

  • This internship will be about 30 hours per week and the intern must work in our downtown D.C. office for a minimum of 3 days per week (Tuesday-Thursday). The daily start time is flexible but must be between the hours of 7:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. 

Required Education and Experience

- Must be authorized to work in the United States.

- Must be enrolled full-time or part-time in a degree granting program with a concentration in Legal Studies, Communication, Public Policy, Public Affairs, or similar concentration.

- Must be a in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program.
