Surgical Research Intern | Manhattan, New York
Join ESSE Care & Wellness—a leading center in minimally invasive gynecology and reproductive surgery—as a Surgical Research Intern. You’ll support data collection and analysis on surgical outcomes and assist in preparing case studies, educational materials, and academic presentations. This is a part time position year-round; you must be in the area year-round for this hybrid role. Two days in person, one remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and extract data from surgical case logs and patient records
- Assist with drafting clinical summaries, literature reviews, and patient education materials
- Help organize before/after photos, imaging, and procedural data for publication or teaching
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant data files and research tracking sheets
- Attend internal case review or journal club meetings when applicable
Ideal Candidate:
- Pre-med or public health student with strong academic standing
- Highly detail-oriented and comfortable handling confidential medical data
- Strong research, writing, and organizational skills
- Interest in women’s health, minimally invasive surgery, or reproductive medicine
- Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, PubMed, or citation managers preferred
