Dedicated School Staffing is proud to support Summit Academy School - Cincinnati for the recruitment of substitute school based employment opportunities. We are looking for Building Substitute Teachers, dedicated substitutes looking for committed work within a building or district, every day the school is in session, for the entire school year. Not unlike long term teachers, Building Substitute Teachers have a regular presence in a school and are relied on to show up every day and make it count.

Responsibilities

• Follows lesson plans.
• Maintains a neat and orderly classroom.
• Ensures that students are never left unattended in the classroom.
• Keeps students safe and engaged.
• Monitors student progress and assists where needed by keeping proximity.
• Maintains existing classroom management and discipline procedures.
• Understands building and classroom policy and procedures.
• Provides written feedback for the classroom teacher.
• Maintains accurate attendance records.

Requirements

• A minimum of a High School Degree or GED is required.
• Clean criminal background.
• Three (3) positive professional references.
• Experience working with school aged children.
• Previous experience working with children K-12 and subjects pertaining to those grade levels is preferred.

After Hire (Contingent)

• Ohio Department of Education Substitute Teacher License ($25), or higher license.
• FBI & BCI Background checks dated within 12 months (Cost varies per agency).

Details

• Classroom and grade level vary day to day depending on need.
• Committed to 4 days / week including Mondays & Fridays.
• Hours: 7:40am-3:20pm.
• Enrollment in State Teachers Retirement System (STRS)
