Elementary Principal - 2026/2027 School Year
POSITION: Elementary Principal (K-2) -Pine Tree Primary School
QUALIFICATIONS:
- New Hampshire certification as Principal required.
- Master’s degree required in the area of elementary education /administration.
- Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience.
- Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
JOB GOAL: To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills so as to promote the educational development of each student.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interprets and enforces district policies and administrative regulations.
- Acts upon own discretion in matters not covered by Board policy.
- Leads in the development, determination of appropriateness, and monitoring of the instructional program.
- Organizes and administers the public relations program of the school.
- Engages in short and long-range planning.
- Assists in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating of the school’s professional staff.
- Assumes responsibility for his/her own professional growth and development.
- Initiates, designs, and implements programs to meet specific needs of the school.
- Orient new staff members and assist in their development.
- Prepares or supervises the preparation of accurate data collection and reporting as required or appropriate to the school’s administration and annual local and state reporting.
- Prepares and submits the school’s budgetary requests, and helps to monitor expenditure of funds.
- Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, according due process to the rights of students.
- Participates in Administrative team meetings and such other meetings as required or appropriate.
- Keeps the Superintendent informed on important school activities and problems.
- Supervises all professional, paraprofessional, and non-teaching personnel attached to the school.
- Assumes and shares responsibility for the safety and administration of the school plant.
- Plans and supervises fire drills and emergency programs.
- Plans and coordinates work of staff members.
- Organizes administration of a program of reporting pupil progress to parents.
- Provides substitute teachers in case of teacher absence.
- Promotes and encourages community involvement.
- Creates a positive and friendly atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Facilitates meetings of staff to achieve school and district goals, and ensure proper functioning of the school.
- Makes provision for being available to students and parents for educational related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Assists in the operation of the transportation program.
- Provides leadership to assure continuity and correlation of curriculum among schools.
- Coordinates the activities of all itinerant and non-teaching staff assigned to the building.
- Assumes responsibility for any other duties that may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Conway School District Administrators/Supervisors Personnel Policies.
WORK YEAR: 220 day position
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Conway School Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel. The Superintendent of Schools will be the evaluator.
