Outreach and Sales Intern
Role Overview
Harm.ai is seeking an Outreach & Sales Intern to support our go-to-market ("GTM") efforts as the company begins the engagement of cities, universities, nonprofits, and public-sector partners. This role sits at the intersection of sales, partnerships, and operations and is ideal for someone interested in startups, civic tech, public policy, B2B sales, and entrepreneurism.
You will be joining our GTM Team for early adopter reach out, attend pitch meetings, shadow team members in proposal writing and business strategy, and gain an understanding of technology client acquisition.
This is a hands-on role, and candidates will conduct real cold and warm reach out, support lead qualification, and gain experience to how a mission-driven tech company grows from pilot programs to long-term contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Outreach & Lead Support
- Research and assist team to build targeted outreach lists (e.g., city officials, university safety leaders, nonprofit directors)
- Support email and LinkedIn outreach campaigns (drafting, scheduling, tracking responses)
- Log and update lead activity in the CRM
- Monitor inboxes and flag warm or time-sensitive responses for follow-up
Sales Operations & Pipeline Support
- Assist with lead qualification (basic research, fit assessment, prioritization
- Maintain clean, organized CRM records
- Help prepare briefing notes for sales calls
Campaign & Process Support
- Help document outreach workflows and best practices
- Coordinate follow-ups and reminders to ensure no leads fall through the cracks
- Support special outreach initiatives (e.g., pilots, RFP related follow-ups, conferences)
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with Ops / Tech to ensure leads are correctly tagged and tracked
- Work with Content / Comms to surface feedback from prospects (what resonates, what doesn’t)
- Escalate promising opportunities to senior team members
Ideal Candidate Profile
Required:
- Strong written communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
- Comfortable doing outreach and following up
- Interest in startups, technology, public policy, or social impact
- Ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines
- Professionalism
Nice to Have (Not Required):
- Prior experience with sales, outreach, fundraising, or CRM tools
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, email campaigns, or basic data tracking
- Interest in government, public safety, or civic innovation
