About the Position
We are seeking a Solar Operations Systems & Performance Engineering Intern to support our Energy Optimization Team. This hybrid role combines data-driven performance analysis with business systems and process improvement, providing hands-on exposure to how solar assets are monitored, maintained, and optimized at scale.
You will work closely with our performance engineering desk, data analysts, and systems administrator to improve plant performance, streamline workflows, and enhance operational visibility.
Responsibilities:
Performance Engineering Support
- Monitor daily solar site performance and identify underperforming assets
- Support root cause analysis of inverter, tracker, and communication issues
- Assist with performance reporting
Systems & Process Improvement
- Help document and improve operational workflows ( i.e., PM scheduling, asset handover)
- Support CMMS data cleanup
- Assist with automation of reporting and dashboards
- Improve data quality and asset hierarchy organization
- Help standardize operating procedures and templates
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Interface with field operations team
- Support our technical asset management and reporting needs
- Work with our CMMS administrator and Sr. Production Manager on integration improvements

Requirements:
- Pursuing degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Operations Management, or related field
- Strong Excel skills
- Interest in renewable energy operations
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to analyze data and communicate insights
- Ability to commute to our Stamford, CT office (Monday – Friday)
Preferred Skills:
- Python or Power BI experience
- Familiarity with solar PV concepts
- Coursework in power systems, data analytics, or process improvement
