Summer Internship in the Community Development - Downtown Division

Salary: $16.50/hour

Job Description:

Up to 30 hours per week (10 weeks) / 300 hours total

$16.50 / hour

The Downtown Division is offering an internship to support events produced in Downtown Hendersonville. This internship will provide opportunities to learn about event planning and production for downtown events like the Hendersonville Farmers Market, Rhythm & Brews, the Bearfootin’ Artwalk and Auction and more. Gain experience both in-office and hands-on during and leading up to events. Projects will include:

• Day of event support at the Hendersonville Farmers Market (Saturdays)
• Day of event support at Rhythm & Brews (3rd Thursdays in June, July, August)
• Event logistics and preparation
• Marketing / Social Media
• Supporting staff in coordination and planning with City Departments on other events downtown

Some flexibility is allowed in this schedule, with a minimum of 15 hours per week supporting in-office needs, and required event days to attend/work to include the Hendersonville Farmers Market (Saturdays 6am-2pm) Rhythm & Brews (3rd Thursdays June, July, August – will require evening hours), others as assigned and as scheduling allows
