Position will be a 223 shift.  4:45PM to 5:15AM following a 223 schedule

About the position

The Operator - Fermentation position is responsible for operating equipment in the Fermentation department under close supervision. This role involves various tasks including sanitizing, pelletizing, freeze drying, mixing, separating, and monitoring processes to ensure product quality and adherence to procedures. The operator will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, adjust, clean, and sanitize equipment to produce products within quality standards.
  • Assist others in areas trained as required by production demands or by direction of the Supervisor.
  • Deliver or pick up raw materials or finished products into and out of a freezer.
  • Print and apply labels to products.
  • Stack bags onto trolleys for storage in the freezer.
  • Verify lot and batch numbers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities using Lean concepts and principles.
  • Troubleshoot and identify equipment failures or problems.
  • Take necessary samples for QC testing as needed.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and/or data entry for production and/or inventory records.
  • Adhere to all GMP, including sanitary requirements, Safety, ISO, and Standardized Work procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process including conversion of weight and volume in the metric system.
  • Ability to read and follow production instructions.
