Inventory Control Handler

Summary of Role

The Inventory Control/Material Handler controls inventory through daily, physical cycle counting while working in the ERP system. This role collaborates with many internal stakeholders by informing managers, leads, and the Production Scheduler of order adjustments, fulfillment, etc. The Inventory Control/Material Handler sets up cells and retrieves parts for each cell to ensure optimal productivity, safety, and quality standards are continually met.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Production Scheduler on a daily basis.
  • Material handling:  Pull and deliver parts/materials for each cell in an accurate and efficient manner and notify the manager or the lead of same.
  • Cycle counting:  Perform daily cycle counts, resolve related errors/discrepancies, and organize racking for efficient inventory control.
  • Utilize the ERP (M2M) daily, including for bin and inventory adjustments. Communicate with relevant stakeholders about inventory adjustments, including buyers and the Production Scheduler.
  • Research and resolve inventory issues, maintain accurate and current records for inventory control.
  • Participate in internal/external audits.
  • Other duties as assigned; position subject to change at any time

Qualifications 

  • Education:  
    • HS diploma
  • Experience/Knowledge:
    • 2 years of warehouse and/or inventory control experience using an ERP
    • Knowledge of supply chain principles
    • Use of forklifts and order pickers; forklift certified
  • Skills/Competencies:
    • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
    • Excellent team and interpersonal skills including collaborating with internal and external customers
    • Strong math and reading skills
    • Strong computer skills to include ERP use/experience
    • Able to comply with all safety guidelines
    • Reliable and punctual; able to prioritize and organize duties, items, and projects
    • Positive, professional attitude with the ability to learn quickly and follow instructions
    • Attention to detail and ability to focus
    • Driven, with the ability to work independently and as a team member
    • Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Schedule--Monday-Thursday:  7 AM to 4 PM, Friday:  7 AM to 1 PM
  • Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, standing, sitting, bending, walking, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., or more with assistance.
  • Comfortable working in a changing and busy environment.
  • May operate warehouse equipment. 
  • Primarily works in a warehouse with usual noise levels.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
