The Role
We’re looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to help manage the full billing process for our outpatient mental health practice. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with numbers, learning systems, and taking ownership of important processes. You’ll get hands-on experience in healthcare billing while contributing to a team that values accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.
This position is on-site in Poughkeepsie.
What You’ll Do
Submit and track insurance claims for psychiatric and therapy services using CPT and ICD-10 coding
Review documentation to ensure services are coded correctly
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve discrepancies
Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility using EMR/EHR systems
Maintain accurate billing records and adjustments
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to clarify questions and prevent recurring issues
Who We’re Looking For
Students or recent graduates in healthcare, finance, accounting, or operations interested in billing and revenue cycle work
Detail-oriented and comfortable managing numbers and systems
