Position: Recreation Supervisor
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $16-$17/hour
Bonus plan: Opportunity to earn an end-of-season bonus up to $1,000 based on performance metrics, including year-over-year revenue growth and year-over-year reduction in operating expenses.
Schedule:
May, September, October: Approximately 20 hours per week
June – August: Approximately 40 hours per week
Above hours are an average

Job Summary
The Recreation Supervisor oversees the daily execution of Akron-Canton Jellystone Park’s recreation programming and activities. This role is responsible for leading seasonal recreation staff, ensuring programming is delivered consistently and professionally, and creating a fun, engaging environment for guests.
The Recreation Supervisor focuses on bringing energy, structure, and reliability to daily activities while maintaining safety, organization, and alignment with the park’s programming schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Execute pre-planned daily recreation programming, events, and themed activities.
Train, schedule, and supervise a seasonal recreation team of approximately 4–8 part-time staff members.
Provide clear direction and on-site leadership to recreation staff during activities and events.
Ensure recreation programs are set up, run, and cleaned up properly and on schedule.
Maintain safety standards and enforce park rules during all recreation activities.
Serve as a visible, approachable presence for guests during programming.
Collaborate with park leadership to ensure activities align with guest expectations and operational needs.
Assist with on-site execution of special events and peak-season programming as needed.

This individual is comfortable leading seasonal staff, adapting to changing conditions, and managing multiple activities throughout the day. While this position reports to the General Manager, it requires the ability to work independently, stay organized, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting.
Qualifications
Previous experience in recreation, camp activities, education, childcare, or a related field preferred.
Prior leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Comfortable leading group activities and engaging with guests of all ages.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Ability to remain energetic, professional, and guest-focused throughout the season.
