Field Production Manager
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Field Production Manager to join our team and help lead day-to-day field operations. This full-time, year-round position will report directly to the Head Grower and work closely with farm leadership to manage all aspects of crop production in the field. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organized, and confident operating and maintaining a wide range of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Grower in managing all stages of vegetable crop production: soil prep, planting, cultivation, irrigation, spraying, and harvesting
- Lead and supervise seasonal crews to complete daily field tasks efficiently and to a high standard
- Operate and maintain farm equipment including tractors, tillage and cultivation tools, spreaders, sprayers and harvest equipment
- Safely drive trucks, tractors, and equipment on public road
- Assist with crop scouting, identifying pest or disease pressure, and implementing control strategies
- Keep clear records of fieldwork, inputs, and harvests
- Maintain irrigation infrastructure and assist with system setup and repair as needed
- Participate in off-season projects, maintenance, and preparation for the next growing season
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in vegetable or row crop production
- Skilled in tractor and farm equipment operation
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely drive trucks and large equipment on public roads
- Willingness and ability to obtain a Massachusetts pesticide applicator license (we will support this process)
- Physically capable of working long hours outdoors and lifting 50+ lbs regularly
- Strong communication, leadership, and time-management skills
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and with a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Basic mechanical and irrigation repair skills
