This position has a budgeted hiring rate of $55,000. The position is classified as an A3. The A3 salary band for all full-time, 12-month positions at the college with this classification have a minimum rate of $45,000 and a maximum rate of $70,312.50. For benefit purposes only, the workweek is estimated to be 35 hours per week. The actual schedule for exempt positions may vary based on the workload and responsibilities assigned.
Reporting to the Director of Conference and Auxiliary Services, the Assistant Director serves as the primary contact for third party entities seeking to rent and use campus space for an event. This position also oversees the use of campus space for all campus units and students. Provides excellent customer service to all customers internal and external to the campus.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serving as the primary contact for third party entities seeking to rent and use campus space for events such as but not limited to summer camps, meetings and celebrations (e.g., weddings, baby showers).
- Managing operations and logistics for all third-party events to include but not limited to billing, facility use and preparation and clean-up, room assignments and linens, food service, audio visual, security, and other needs.
- Planning, establishing and maintaining the master calendar of reservations.
- Developing printed and non-printed promotional materials.
- Providing effective leadership to ensure that the department continues to operate effectively in the director’s absence.
- Communicating with colleagues internal to department as well as event contacts.
- Providing support for events sponsored by external entities.
- Serving as the supervisor of record for the Event Scheduling and Set-up Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent years of related experience required.
- Three or more years of related experience required, and higher education experience preferred.
- One or more years of supervisory experience required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communications skills and ability to be effective with verbal and written communications.
- Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity working with individuals of diverse identities.
- Intermediate computer skills (MS office, internet, database).
- Ability to work effectively and productively in a collaborative team capacity with creative approaches to organizational development opportunities and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to effect innovative solutions to operational issues.
- Must have valid driver's license with less than 2 points.
- Able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
