Camp Counselor Job Description

Location: Ruffing Montessori School
Camp Schedule: Monday–Friday
Camp Hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Shifts Available:

8:45 AM – 3:15 PM

10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Before & After Care Opportunities)

Camp Dates: Summer 2026
Pay Rate: Starting at $17/hour+, based on age, background and experience
Age Requirement: 18 years and older

About the Camp

Summer Ruffing It! – Out of This World Summer Camp is a high-energy, creativity-filled program packed with field trips, theme days, parties, and unforgettable summer fun. Our campers explore, create, play, and imagine—all while having a blast with our amazing staff team.

Position Overview

We are seeking fun, dedicated, organized, and enthusiastic Camp Counselors to join our Summer 2026 team. Counselors play a key role in creating a safe, engaging, and memorable camp experience for all campers.

Available Camper Groups

Counselors may work with one or more of the following age groups:

🌟 Mini Martians – Toddlers (18 months–2 years)

🚀 Junior Jetpackers – Toddlers (3 years)

🌙 Cosmic Cuties – Ages 3–5

🛸 Galactic Guardians – Elementary (Grades 1–6)

👽 Extreme! Extraterrestrials – Middle School

Responsibilities Include

Supervise and engage campers throughout the camp day

Lead and assist with daily activities, games, and special events

Support campers during field trips and themed activities

Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive environment

Collaborate with fellow staff and camp leadership

Help with setup, cleanup, and transitions throughout the day

🐾 Ruff Times

🎲 Game Room fun

🚀 Space exploration & science activities

👽 Alien invasion games and themed adventures

🎉 Parties, special events, field trips and more!
