Watershed Stewardship Center Summer Service-Learning Position
Position Description
The Watershed Stewardship Center internship provides a unique opportunity for hands-on experience in environmental education and interpretation. The intern will work closely with experienced naturalists to engage guests and students in meaningful experiences that inspire a lifelong love of nature.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and activities may include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting in maintaining the nature center’s live animal collection and displays
- Joining naturalist on guided nature hikes and interpretive programs on Cleveland Metroparks trails (may be outside of West Creek Reservation, transportation offsite provided)
- Participating in outreach and community engagement events
- Participating in special events at WSC or other nature centers in the park district
- Assisting in the development of nature-based educational programs for nature center guests, including school groups, families, and adults
- Helping to create and update educational materials, displays, and resources
- Fostering a safe and including learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration
Requirements
- Applicants must be 18 years of age
- No required degree/focus area, but a biology, education, or parks and recreation career path preferred
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to volunteer in various weather conditions
- Able to follow tasks, duties, responsibilities, etc., as assigned
