Education Sales Development Representative

Las Vegas, NV | In-Person Opportunity with relocation support provided!

This opportunity is for someone who's ready to dive into a fast-paced role. Someone who wants to be part of building something that matters, not just clocking hours at a job.

We're Skillify. We run career conferences and mentorship programs that help students figure out what they want to do with their lives. We've reached thousands of students across 220+ schools — and we're just getting started.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring our first full-time Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help build and scale our school partnerships across California’s CTE (Career Technical Education) ecosystem.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional who wants to learn modern, consultative B2B sales from the ground up—starting with research, outbound strategy, and lead qualification, and growing into relationship ownership over time.

You’ll work directly alongside the founder, shadowing real sales conversations, learning how trust-based partnerships are built with schools and districts, and helping turn a relationship-driven sales motion into a repeatable, scalable system.

This is not a high-volume, spray-and-pray sales role. It’s a craft role for someone who wants to understand why deals close, not just how fast.

What You’ll Do

Research & Targeting

  • Research school districts, high schools, and CTE programs across California
  • Identify the right stakeholders (CTE coordinators, counselors, principals, district leaders)
  • Understand each school’s:
    • Pathways offered
    • Funding sources (Perkins, grants, district initiatives)
    • Student demographics and priorities
  • Build clean, well-qualified lead lists—not generic databases

Lead Qualification & Sales Support

  • Conduct initial outreach to qualify inbound and outbound leads
  • Assess:
    • Fit (program alignment, student needs)
    • Timing (budget cycles, planning windows)
    • Decision-making structure
  • Prepare detailed notes and briefs to support sales conversations
  • Help determine which opportunities should advance to founder-led calls
  • Help document what works: messaging, objections, qualification criteria
  • Contribute to building repeatable sales processes and playbooks

Email Campaigns & Outreach Systems

  • Execute thoughtful, personalized email campaigns (not mass blasting)
  • Test subject lines, messaging angles, and follow-up sequences
  • Maintain consistent, professional follow-up with prospects
  • Use CRM and outreach tools to:
    • Track conversations and engagement
    • Ensure no leads fall through the cracks
    • Maintain clean, accurate records
  • Collaborate on improving CRM workflows and internal systems

Shadow & Learn Relationship-Driven Sales

  • Shadow founder sales calls, district meetings, and conference conversations
  • Observe how long-term school partnerships are built through trust, credibility, and follow-through
  • Learn how to:
    • Navigate education buying cycles
    • Handle objections thoughtfully
    • Align programs to real school constraints
  • Gradually take on more responsibility as skills develop

What Success Looks Like

First 30 days

  • Develop a strong understanding of:
    • California’s CTE landscape
    • School and district buying cycles
    • Skillify’s programs and use cases
  • Master our CRM, outreach tools, and research workflows
  • Build high-quality, well-researched lead lists
  • Draft and test thoughtful outreach emails in your own voice
  • Shadow founder sales calls and observe relationship-driven sales in action

First 90 days

  • Consistently qualify inbound and outbound leads with strong notes and context
  • Run effective outbound email campaigns with clear follow-up systems
  • Contribute to a growing pipeline of well-qualified school and district opportunities
  • Support live sales conversations with research briefs and follow-ups
  • Begin independently handling early-stage conversations and handoffs

Long-term

  • Become a go-to partner across districts
  • Help define how Skillify builds and scales long-term partnerships statewide

You're Right for This If...

You're all in. Part-time energy doesn't work here. You want something you can pour yourself into.

You're hungry. You want to grow fast, take on responsibility, and prove yourself. You're not waiting to be told what to do.

You're resourceful. When you hit a wall, you find a way around it. ChatGPT, Google, ask questions, figure it out — you don't freeze.

You're reliable. When you say you'll do something, it happens. People trust you.

You're relationship-oriented. You remember details. You follow up. You make people feel seen.

You're an optimistic problem-solver. Things break, plans change, teachers ghost. You stay positive and adapt.

You love systems. Checklists, trackers, organized chaos — you thrive when things have structure.

You light up around students. You genuinely enjoy young people and want to help them win.

You want mentorship. You'll work directly with our founders. You want to learn from people who've built something.

You're excited to travel. School visits, conferences, events — you want to be in the room, not just behind a screen.

Who Thrives Here

Recent grads who are looking for their "first real thing" — the opportunity where they can grow into a leader. People who chose a scrappy startup over a big-name company because they want ownership, not a title. The person who was president of three clubs, tutored on the side, and still asked “what else can I help with?”

Requirements

  • Work with us in-person at our Summerlin office when not at conferences
  • Valid driver's license, reliable car, and willingness to drive 2-3+ hours to school sites
  • Open to overnight travel when partnership events are far from Las Vegas
  • Mastery of Google Drive or tools like Notion for staying organized
  • Bonus: experience in sales and CRM systems

The Culture

  • High standards, high support. We expect excellence and we'll help you get there.
  • Move fast, stay scrappy. We don't wait for permission. We figure it out.
  • Collaborative, not competitive. Small team = everyone matters. Your ideas matter on day one.
  • Mission over ego. We're here for students. Everything else is secondary.

Why This Role is Special

  • Real impact you can see. You'll watch students transform over the course of a single day. That never gets old.
  • Founder access. You'll learn directly from people who've built this company for 12+ years.
  • Shape the role. We're scaling our program. Your ideas on how to make it better will actually get implemented.
  • A team that's actually fun. We like working together. That's rare — and it matters.
  • Never boring. Different school, different students, different energy every time.
