About Us

Lavender Hill Farm is a premier agritourism destination in Northern Michigan, known for its 13,000 plants, guided tours, concert series, events and our farmhouse boutique. Our Certified Naturally Grown farm offers a hands-on, collaborative work environment where team members across all departments work closely with leadership, making a real impact on daily operations and guest experiences, while surrounded by fields of lavender.

What You’ll Do

As an Ambassador & Tour Go-To Intern, you will:

  • Provide and lead engaging and educational guided tours, sharing the history of the farm, explaining lavender cultivation, and highlighting agritourism experiences.
  • Train, schedule, and oversee tour guides to ensure high-quality guest interactions and productivity.
  • Manage tour coordination, including timing, ticketing, and group coordination.
  • Operate ticketing software to book and check in guests for tours, workshops, and events.
  • Greet and help guests, providing personalized recommendations for farm activities.
  • Engage visitors with enthusiastic storytelling and exceptional customer service.
  • Monitor and manage tour supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure smooth visitor flow and crowd management, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Support farm operations as needed, assisting in retail, events, or agriculture.
  • Perform hospitality-related administrative tasks, including planning and wrap-up sheets.
  • Participate in weekly team go-to meetings with farm leadership to review progress and upcoming events.
  • Prepare for tour bus visits; coordinate catering, provide snacks, and manage staffing.

What We’re Looking For

  • A student or recent graduate in Hospitality, Tourism, Communications, or a related field.
  • A confident and engaging public speaker who enjoys interacting with guests.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills—you are great at multitasking!
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Outgoing, positive, and adaptable personality.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Flexible availability, including occasional evenings for special events.
  • Able to problem-solve under pressure.
  • At least 18 years of age is preferred.
