Expansion Capital Manager

Position Overview

Grow with Midco! Exciting opportunity to join our Strategy and Growth Expansion Capital team. Help Midco continue to expand, drive revenue, build strategic relationships, and shape the future of how we bring our services to communities specifically in multi-dwelling properties (MDU’s). This is a hybrid position working from our Edina, MN or Sioux Falls, SD office 3 days per week.

Job Summary:

The Expansion Capital Manager drives Midco’s growth by identifying and prioritizing expansion opportunities in existing and emerging markets. This role transforms strategic concepts into actionable projects, ensuring alignment across teams and delivering measurable results. They help Midco win in the marketplace by accelerating initiatives that strengthen our competitive position and long-term success.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and quantify growth opportunities. This will include but not be limited to steady state markets, new markets and adjacent markets.
  • Create a prioritized list of growth opportunities inclusive of MDU Properties.
  • Draft project scope documents and identify work streams to activate and test prioritized opportunity hypotheses.
  • Recommend process, organization and compensation adjustments to deliver growth at Midco.
  • Develop options for solving problems and gain alignment across multiple groups to implement change.
  • Refine insights, identify new opportunities and question Midco norms through external and internet research.
  • Organize and lead a cross functional team to execute each project and work stream.
  • Scope and analyze the growth opportunity, set aggressive but realistic goals, and create reporting to track progress.
  • Develop an action plan from learnings in each project, adjust scope, and continue to refine and optimize execution.
  • Define and structure early concepts given from executive leadership into clear project ideas with defined scope, objectives, and success metrics.
  • Strategically evaluate industry investment opportunities to bolster growth through multiple initiatives.
  • Model Midco’s mission, vision, values, ethos, and Leadership Success Drivers, and inspire others to do the same.
  • Ensure customer privacy by adhering to Midco’s privacy guidelines while actively following Midco policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other post-secondary degree preferred.
  • Experience leading cross functional teams.
  • Knowledge of broadband products and services
  • Previous roles in Strategic Consulting, Product Management, or Corporate Development preferred.

The hiring range for this position is $90,000-$120,000. The actual base salary offered will be determined based on multiple factors including internal equity, location, and the individual’s job-related knowledge, skills and experience. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and/or individual performance.

Work Environment:

  • May need to sit or remain stationary extended periods of time. 
  • Extremely time sensitive deadlines to meet customer demand. 
  • Employees may be required to work more than 40 hours per week.  

Physical Demands:

  • May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Heavy keyboard/mouse usage required with repetitive movements.  
  • Must remain at your desk or workstation for long periods of time.  

Mental Demands:

  • Ability to evaluate market trends and articulate actional insights to drive expansion.
  • Break down complex challenge and develop multiple solutions.
  • Ideate growth opportunities into clear and feasible projects.
